Okay - so we ended up throwing in the towel on the cabin after much debate and checking into the Days Inn. The crux of the decision being that we could do without showers, but not so much without the toilet. We missed the kitchen since we had only a microwave at the hotel. I made a list of pros and cons about the cabin before we made our decision:
Pros: the crooked house makes our house seem level
its in the mountains
it’s a change of pace
Vicks vapor rub tissues – interesting, kind of delightful – albiet strange
If we have no water in the morning – the cabins free
Con: no water, it took an hour to find, no water
Plumber won’t come tonight – will come first thing? What does that mean?
Shouldn’t the cabin already be free??
The house tilts in various directions but there is a quite a draw to a little corner which makes it feel a bit “blair witch” - spooky
Quite a loud rooster - crowed for at least four hours after sun-up WTF?
We will definitely give this another try in more temperate times:
We settled for this: It had a hot shower and a flushing toilet, crappy coffee, but we found an awesome coffee shop for breakfast (I'll post that to a later blog:
